Packue is a card protection service built around one simple idea: every card on your account should be blocked for online purchases by default, and only you should be able to unblock it, one transaction at a time.
Online card fraud is one of the fastest-growing financial crimes in the UK and Ireland. Card-not-present fraud, where a criminal uses stolen card details to make purchases online or over the phone without physically holding the card, accounts for the vast majority of card fraud losses. Existing children's spending cards and standard bank accounts do little to address this risk. They may offer spending limits or notifications, but they do not block online transactions by default.
Packue changes that. Every card on a Packue account is blocked for online and phone purchases from the moment it is issued. When someone on your account wants to make an online purchase, a request is sent to you as the account holder, who can unblock that single transaction with one tap. Once the transaction is complete, the card blocks again automatically. If the card details are ever stolen, they are useless: the card is already blocked before the thief can use them.
Packue is designed for anyone who manages multiple cards and wants the same level of protection across all of them. Unlike per-card subscription services, Packue offers a single flat-rate subscription that covers every card on your account.
Packue is currently in development and is being built with direct input from families in Ireland and the UK. We are gathering feedback through our early access programme to ensure the product works for real families before launch.
